On average, how long should you spend on these 12 mark questions.

If a 12 mark questions is on for example the behaviourist approach would do outlining + strengths and weaknesses for both classical and operant conditioning? I keep running out of time Can you do outlining + 1 strength for classical conditioning and then 1 weakness for operant if I PEEL it well. If anyone can help on structuring these types of questions that would be very helpful too.

Thanks in advance! I do AQA AS psychology if that helps.

I would recommend spending around 15 minutes on a 12 mark question. This is how I would answer it (if it were on the behaviourist approach):

Introduction: Assumptions of the behaviourist approach
Paragraph 1: Classical conditioning (definition)
Pavlov's study (keep it brief, only put the main bits)
Evaluate: 2xstrengths and 2xweaknesses (Doing two means that you can shorten your explanation for each one and not lose marks)
Repeat the above structure for Operant Conditioning.

I would definitely recommend timing yourself when you do the essay as well as not look at your notes as you're bound to forget some stuff when you don't have any notes with you
