Would you prefer to be good looking but only good enough to attend an ex-poly uni, or be ugly but bright enough to attend Oxbridge or similar?

Both comparisons are extreme. You can be bright and good-looking/the other too. Both are not inversely proportional. Plus, no one is ugly, you can only have ugly traits.

If I was that, then my dreams at night would be pretty boring, that's one downside I can think of to that. :sigh:

I was thinking about this the other day and decided I would rather be good looking. You are never going to be alone if you're good looking, people will always want to be with you no matter what. However, if you're intilegent and ugly there is a very high chance you could still end up lonely and alone.
Perhaps more so for females, but also for males too.

I have more unattractive friends at Oxbridge and other top universities who are not aesthetically gifted and are unhappy than I do attractive, unintelligent friends at polys or not even at uni at all who are happy because they have so many admirers.

Sadly I'm ugly and (rather) unintelligent :,(

I can only fall in love with someone that has talent, intelligence and an overall beautiful mind.

Which would rule out me altogether then. :getmecoat:

Don't be so modest. Everyone has one or the other to some extent.

The former isn't necessarily true. It's an illusion. People might be afraid of approaching you. Or they might feel "average" compared to you and have self-esteem issues when they're around you, so would rather avoid you. People might have insecurities about their own appearances, and view you as a threat towards them attracting a partner.

Also it depends on whether you're introverted or extroverted. A good looking extrovert will probably attract a lot of attention, but a good looking introvert won't. It also depends on other things such as dress sense, hairstyle, charisma, being nice (etc.). You can have good facial features and have none of those things.

This is from a male's perspective.

I like to be with people who can hold an insightful conversation with me than people who talk about dumb things.

But remember though, not all smart people are from the University and not all good looking people are dim witted.

Peace.
