    questions pretty much in the title...

    what is the difference between the PSAT & SAT? :confused:

    any answers will be greatly appreciated :p:

    PSAT = pre-SAT. Basically you take this during your sophomore or junior year in high school (10th or 11th grade, I think it's the latter) as a mini-test of the SAT. Doesn't usually count except in terms of national merit awards, which are scholarships given out based on those scores. I don't know if they hand them to non-Americans, however.

    Sometime before applying to schools, you then take the SAT. That counts for your admissions.

    PSAT is nothing important. if u r asian and u think u can score higher tahn 2300 on PSAT, then put in a LOT of effort into it

    PSAT is a practice form of the SAT that really doesn't not count. Most people take it in the fall of 11th grade. Some people will also take it in 10th grade. College won't know your score. I didn't think that they gave the PSAT outside of the USA.

    Basically the only reason for the PSAT is for people to earn National Merit Scholarships and the sort. Not that important really.

    Yeah, the PSAT serves two functions:

    -To see how well you can do on the SATs withouth studying so you know what areas you need to work on for the actual SATs

    -To earn Nat'l Merit Scholarships or Nat'l Achievement Scholarships
