The text thing shouldn't worry you, if he's anything like me he hates texting because people :
a) Tlk lik dis
b) Send one sentence at a time, (about nothing)
c) Send another message 1 min later asking why you didn't reply to the first
d) Send you 30 messages a day (about nothing)
e) Get upset when you don't remember what they were talking about (nothing)
f) Forget that you have other people doing the same thing to you.

Completely agree. Texting isn't for everyone, and him taking the drunken texts in his stride seems like a very good thing - a lot of people would be very annoyed at them, he is a true gent!
And walking people home I find is a general thing that nice people do, regardless of gender/sexual feelings. He just sounds shy.

Lol. I appologise for laughing, but this is quite a silly thread.
Firstly, he walks you to the bus or whatever, thats lovely (I personally don't see why all of us don't do simple things like this, but hey). Not only is it polite, but he gets to spend more time with you, which is a bonus for both of you. He obvious likes you physically, and will do things to spend more time with you, so the problem of company is not an issue.
Now, texting. Personally, I hate texting and having a chat with people (mostly because I'm a tight sod, but also it lacks any real meaning, or purpose, as a poster said before, and ends in pointless conversation. I often text back too much and annoy the other person, and then feel bad). Now, the issue here is with the drunkern txting. People say and do things when theyre drunk they don't mean (well, most do). Tell him/ask him when you're sober, but don't mask your feelings. Prompt him.
This fella just sounds dead shy (sounds similar to myself TBH). The not talking to his friends about you isn't because you mean nothing, its because you do mean something, and isn't the sort of braggy "And then she did this to me..." guy that are always shouting their mouth off. Let him know how you feel, and you'll probably find that he feels the same.
Lead the fella a little. He obviously likes you! Now, go and have fun!
