Whoa.

People still use the phone to order food?
lol but they lie online about the menu, how things look, and I've ordered online and they mess up the delivery, at least with dominos. And it seems if you go in person it takes forever.

''Give us a Carling, darling :perv:'' he says to the buxom barmaid as he leers at her with a lecherous gaze
And thinks "I would tap that. ", implying that she would ever be interested in this 50lb-overweight, bald Gazza.

As I am on gap year and have not been doing anything. I got depressed of all the free time so thought that I'd work part time. So, I got a job at a Chinese takeaway and have been working here for a week now. Anyway, a customer called at the Chinese takeaway. Everything was fine at first, I was being so nice and giving good customer service. He said that he wanted 'pancake rolls'. And, I said that we don't do them. So, all of a sudden he became rude. He's like 'I ordered like two weeks ago twice, and at that time, I got the rolls'. I gave the phone to my colleague, who has been working here longer. He explained to him saying that we only do three rolls: chicken, veg and duck but no pancake. So, he asked for chicken. So, my colleague said that 'now, I'm going to pass the phone back'. So, when I got the phone back, I apologised and said that 'sorry, I didn't understand, you asked for pancake roll and we don't do them, Sir'. He said 'no, I'm sure it is my fault, as I'm English, right? Stupid'. Then I said 'ok, Sir'. So, he's like 'don't call me Sir, I'm a working class person like you, so don't call me Sir'. I passed the phone back to my colleague because I can't deal with such rude ass people. He literally made me cry. I think I shouldn't be working. Why are people so mean? He called me stupid and was racist.
Overreacting. Pancake roll is just another name for a spring roll. All Chinese takeaways do them. I am aware of the potential difference in wrapper i.e won ton v the thicker pancake wrapper), but it tends to mean a spring roll.

He was just being difficult and irritable. Your challenge is to be able to deal with difficult customers and calm them down. People cna be rude, but you need to do your job and not let it affect you.

Macala is a classy girl and she doesn't give it up that easily, besides she's already with Big Dave the plumber

He knows his way around her pipes (if you know what I mean )

I work in retail in a big supermarket and I've learned that you can't take these things personally. People are rude, though it's no reflection on you at all. When you work you're just a human front for your business, rather than 'you'. You need to learn to separate the two mind frames in each environment in order to stop work abuse from taking its toll on you. There's nothing you can do to stop the tide of rude customers, so you'll just have to try to adjust your mentality at work.

...omd how could he be racist if he didn't see you as it was on the phone...
You can be racist based on an accent. I dunno if that's what actually happened, but it's possible.

Conventionally one would put a hyphen between "rude" and "ass" in the title, so it doesn't look like the rude customer was literally an ass or was shopping for asses.

Me too. But this is just one of the many egotistical *******s in the world that prey on nice people. No point in even thinking about it. You have something to put on your CV and you're getting money and that's that. You need confidence, you did nothing wrong but somehow you're blaming yourself. This'll come with time
You're right. I really do need confidence.

(Original post by Lord Samosa)
He sounds like what I expect a certain tsrian would act like

Customers can be *******s, especially as it's a takeaway there's expected to be some rude customers. Try not to take it personally and just remember its just an idiot getting angry over a pancake roll. Otherwise, you could try to find a job where you may not have to deal with customer like this often.
I thought getting out of the house will make me less depressed. Guess not.

(Original post by Mancini)
Crying is a bit for an over reaction on your part, when working in customer service rude customers comes with the territory.
I'm just too sensitive.

(Original post by RabbitCFH)
I understand that, he obviously was a douche and you didn't do anything to deserve that. Just remember that it was most likely nothing personal - he was just looking for a fight because he was in a bad mood or whatever and he would have been equally rude to the next person who said something not to his liking. Next time a customer is rude (unfortunately it will happen, I can guarantee that), just laugh to yourself and think how sad they are. I don't like it when someone is an ass to me either, and while my job is not customer facing, I do get an occasional call from a client and sometimes they can be douchy, but I just kind of zone out and say "mhm, okay" until they are done, try that (of course don't do that if you realise you did something wrong! But most of the time it will not be your fault if a customer is being an ass to you).
Thank you for taking out your time and typing up this lovely post. :hugs:

It probably was personal. He's sitting at home in his couch with a copy of the Daily Mail on one hand and the EDL's manifesto on the table in front of him, he's only read half of it but he agrees with all of it and he's aggressively banging his fist on the table in triumphant celebration at how he showed that girl in the chinese takeaway who's boss.

He's called ''Gaz'' and his hobbies are football (watching mainly) and shouting at politicians on the television.
You're very funny.
(Original post by S2M)
Don't take that personal or to heart because you will feel bad about it. It wasn't even your fault so stop worrying about that.
I know but things like this stay with me for a while.

(Original post by TaintedLight)

This is character development. Next time someone calls you stupid, you won't be as sensitive.
I doubt that I wont be.

(Original post by cbreef)
Accent maybe? Or the fact she works in a CHINESE takeaway lol
I actually have a British accent. So, I don't even think that I have an accent.

(Original post by Ladymusiclover)
You're a bit too sensitive, especially if you're working with customers you've got to have thick skin. But he was out of order. Sounds like a complete idiot.
I admit that I'm too sensitive. Makes things like this worse for me.

Don't worry about it Saba, sadly it's the nature of the beast sometimes that you get rude and arsey customers and you just have to remember not to take it personally. They won't have anything against you personally there are just a lot of rude people out there with no manners or grace or patience
Thank you for this sweety. :lovehug:

I would advise you to find a job where you don't have to deal with customers. People can say much worse things than calling you 'stupid'.
Well, I never experienced it before. But, I guess you're right. My next shift is on Monday so I have to be ready for any rude customers.
