Seem to be getting tired easily

Well basically, for the last year or so I've been realising that I wake up and I feel tired all day. The thing is that I get plenty of sleep, though I admit I go to bed late during the holidays (I sleep from maybe 12-1 to 11 o clock in the morning so still around 11 hours sleep which is more than I get at school. Its like i'm being drained of energy. Could this possibly be due to weight gain? I have put on some slight padding around my stomach which I havent burnt off yet, but I don't think that contributes that much to it.

Anyone feel the same? I'm 16.

Could be too much sleep? sometimes I find sleeping more than 8/9 hours makes me feel really tired.
Try taking some multivitamins with iron in them, worked for me!

I'm still waiting for the diagnosis brigade to shout 'tumour, cancer' and so forth. :p:

i felt tired all the time and was tested for diabetes. try drinking lots of water, it helps

Sleeping more than 7 hours has been proven to reduce your life expectancy. Doesn't stop me from sleeping about 11 hours, but it's true.

Drinking lots of water really does help. I usually drink about a gallon a day. It will make you feel so much better.

Too much sleep just makes it worse - do something with your days!

Also, eat greens! A bad diet can make you feel lethargic and ill.
Get some salad in you and you'll feel better, trust me.

I wish i could drink more water, but when i do i need a wee staright away, i have such a weak bladder!! i go to the loo about 20 times a day, ive been to the doctors and they have said im fine. its so annoying though!!!
I'm with the people saying a balanced diet and lots of water should help. I'm not even going to speculate as to why you're so tired as there could be loads of different causes.

Get a blood test done. I'm anemic and always feel like this! Do you eat enough dark green veg?
Get up earlier and get into a routine perhaps.

If you are that worried make an appt with your GP.
I had this, and the solution was, ironically to sleep less, as others have said above.

I sleep about 7 hours a day now, and don't feel tired much. Before I slept about 10 a night and was often tired enough to sleep in the afternoon too!

I've also found upping my exercise (yay swimming) has helped.

As my mother always says 'An hour before midnight is worth two after.' I find going to bed even at 11 instead of 12 or 1 makes a lot of difference
Get some excercise and improve your diet.

i think i find that if i sleep Too much i generally have a very lazy day. If i sleep less then i tend to sleep deeper in the fewer hours (when im over sleeping i wake up several times in the night, albeit only to fall back asleep again instantly) and therefore wake earlier and more refreshed.

Fortunately, that can probably be ruled out because the OP has weight gain - which is the opposite of a general cancer symptom. I suggest setting your alarm clock so that you have 8 hours a night and see if it makes you feel any better.

Also, exercise could help. You will feel much better if you are fitter. I found that when I started going to the gym regularly, I was able to stay up on nights out till about 4am and still be up for more partying, whereas before, I was generally tired by 1am and at home in bed by 2 whilst all my friends were still out.
