Columbia vs LSE (pleaseee help)

i want to major international relations but...

which is the better school?

i would say these are my top two choices...

i love both locations...New York is amazing
& so is London

only faults i can find with the schools is that Columbia is expensive and London is too close to home :s-smilie:

LSE is a great school for job prospects on an international level & i guess its pretty famous around the world.

Is Columbia regarded as an internationally recognized university?

any answers are greatly appreciateddd :p:

Absolutely.

I'm not sure what to tell you because I don't know much about LSE. A friend of mine is going there for a graduate degree in Political Theory, but, other than that, I haven't had any experience with the school.

I know that Columbia is considered to be fantastic in 99% of their departments and great in that last 1%... A lot of successful politicians have come out of their international relations program, so perhaps this is a sign that they have a good program for it.

Sorry I couldn't have been a better help. Good luck!

They are roughly on par in terms of quality and reputation. If you prefer the US system go to Columbia; if you prefer the UK one go to LSE. You will not sacrifice future career or academic prospects by choosing one or another.

I think you should apply and see what happens before worrying about this though.
