    Hello,

a friend of mine is interested in this particular course in this particular university. Entry requirements are quite clear, but a portfolio matter still needs some explanation. I myself do not know much about a portfolio neither does she, so any help or tips on how should it look like and what should contain in it would help greatly. Especially when the course is not exactly targeting the art side, but business more. Thanks in advance.

Hi I'm also applying for this course. For the portfolio I'm adding some of my photography work and creating a mood board. I'm also going to add some written work linked to some of my favourite fashion brands and just general business essays just to show my ability.
    Hope it helped.

    Hi Donatulas,

It's great to hear your friend's applying to the Fashion, Business and Promotion course!

A portfolio is needed if she's invited for an interview and as Shannon says this can include: examples of photography, mood boards and examples of written work. She can also include the following:

    - Creative work examples: photography, fashion garments, drawings, paintings, textiles folders, mood boards or a media project

    - Written work examples: projects such as essays or case studies, reports, presentations, business strategies or research

    - Work experience evidence: this could be demonstrated through photographs of visual merchandising and/or dressing

If she doesn't have any creative work, she can create a mood board / visual collection of images together to show her passion in fashion. This could be showing the latest trends, favourite designers or trends in magazines. She can also demonstrate her interest and awareness of current affairs and tell us where she looks for information, inspiration, and topical news.

If your friend needs any more help our Fashion and Textiles department have some handy portfolio guidance

    Hope that helps!
