I put 10+ because my boyfriend is 16 years older than me

Lord, how many of these threads does there have to be?

Anyway, it depends on the age of the people in question. At my age (18) it would be probably be from 17-21, so yeah. But as you get older the age gap becomes less of a problem. Hell, I just learned that my gran's neighbours, who are married with chidren, have 33 years between them .

I put 2 years, mainly because when I went out with a guy who was 4 years older than me, age difference was an issue!

I know there are loads of threads but I thought if there was a poll we wouldn't get so many more.

Up to ten years. Saying that my boyfriend does go slightly over that mark but not by much.

Reply 6

I put 5 years, as that's how many I'd feel comfortable with.
That might change though, who knows?

What's wrong with that?

I put 10+ cause my b/f is 15 years older.

age is just a number, you cant measure the validity of a relationship on it

Reply 11

Up to two years (younger), though of course I'd make exceptions.

But um, that's only for me. Anyone else can do what they like. I'm all for 20-year age gaps, if that's what makes other people happy.

Reply 12

Well, at my current age (15) I don't think I would go out with anyone more than 2 years older than me simply because our interests and lives would be so different, but in later life I don't think it is really an issue provided you get on well and are happy.

Age isn't just a number, but I couldn't define my maximum age gap without knowing the person in question - so far I haven't met any 33+ year olds interested in me, but if a suitable one came along, I wouldn't say no purely on the basis of age!

it would be wrong if she was 16 and he was 32.

Reply 15

i think up to 10 years would be my personal limit. though i don't really see a problem with bigger age gaps than that. and, like Helenia, i suppose if an ideal candidate came along, a bigger age gap wouldn't be enough to put me off!

Reply 16

I couldnt do 10 years! Besides its not a very prudent thing to do seeing as men dont live as long as women :p:

Reply 17

haha, i suppose. but they also mature much slower. means we need to wait 'til they're about thirty for them to have a maturity level that has hit double digits.

Reply 18

haha suppose thats a good point! But then again my brothers in his 30's and he's immature as hell! Could swear his 7 year old son is more mature then he is alot of the time :p:

Reply 19

I said 10+ because i think by the time you get into your 20's it isn't such a big deal and potentially i could date a guy in his mid or late 30's
