It compltely depends on the site/software you are using for the download, if it is a band wbsite or myspace page where they specifically state the songs are free then that is legal. Also Software such as iTunes provides legal downloads.

Using file sharing programs like Kazaa is not illeagal in itself but the posession of copyright material that you aquire through filesharing without purchase from a legally recognised source is illeagal, NOT the act of downlaoding itself.

Anyhow I think you will find it difficult as QM probably filters most downloads anyway due to bandwidth restrictions, but in the event that you do decide to downlaod music "illeagally" no one really gives a stuff in this country so I doubt youd get into trouble.
weeee thanks SkinnyPuppyBones! haha
Is it possible to do law at queens and not live in the mile end campus... like live on another one?
You could choose an Intercollegate [sp?] hall, located around central London. But the quality of these is considerably worse than the accommodation at Mile End, is more expensive, catered and you will have to share a bathroom with a corridor of people.

Note, Queen's is a university in Belfast.

hey guys... forgive my ignorance, I've never been to london before but I will hopefully be joining the barts and london as an undergrad this year, and I would really appreciate some advice on staying in QM accommodation vs. the univ. of london intercollegiate halls? which do you think is safer, and is taking the tube for 30 mins alone every day going to be a lot more dangerous than, say, the 10-20 minute commute from Mile end, for example? thanks

On a more practical point, if you fancy getting into a ruck with a dozen knifed up bangla teenagers, you'll get your chance.

Personally, it's not high on my to do list.

(Nearly happened the other day though, there's something vaguely disturbing about a group of kids (12-16 at a guess) with their faces covered squaring up to two blokes who are about a foot taller and a good two stone heavier (or five in Mally's case) than them.

daaymmmnn no one mentioned me about the ****ster teens in the neighbourhood. -.- How come none of my friends in QMUL experienced an assault or mugging? I guess it's just being in a wrong place at the wrong time.
