I've recently come by a rather fine pipe, but should I use the same tobacco I use for rollups (i.e. Golden Virginia or Drum) or get some of that fancy dandy pipe tobacco ?


my dad smokes mellow virginia in his pipe...but i don't know whether that's preference or because it is for pipes, sorry!
there reali is no diference between the two. Smokin is more a great hobby n addiction. Pipes however are more prone to damage your health

Pipe tobacco is very different to cigarette tobacco. If you smoke cigarette tobacco in a pipe you will damage it and it won't taste good. If you are going to smoke a pipe at all, rather than blow bubbles with it, go to a specialist tobacconist that sells loose tobacco and ask their advice. You can smell the different tobaccos and buy small amounts of the various ones to see which you like best. I gave up smoking a pipe because I decided I was getting quite enough damage to my lungs from motorists and similar vermin and because I didn't want my children to imitate me. However, after you are 75 years old smoking makes no difference to your life expectancy, so it is something I look forward to in my extreme old age. i suggest you do the same.
