Just looking for opinions/sources I guess.....
(Context can be given if asked....)

MOD NOTE

This thread has been approved to allow a discussion around whether you can be suicidal and not depressed and vice-versa; depressed but not suicidal.

If you need some support with these type of feelings right now; you can contact The Samaritans, Nightline or Childline. Their details can be found here; http://www.samaritans.org/, here; http://nightline.ac.uk/want-to-talk/...our-nightline/.and here; https://www.childline.org.uk/talk/Pages/Talk.aspx. All three are open over the Christmas holiday period.

If you're in physical danger of harming yourself please consider taking yourself down to your local A&E department or ring 999 for an ambulance.

Yeah definitely. People can be suicidal for a lot of different reasons and depression isn’t always an element. Stress, psychosis, bereavement and all lead to people taking their lives.

Sure.

Last time I ended up in hospital I wasn't at all depressed. There can be loads of other reasons too.
