Only LSE and no other uni.

Every year there are many who feels that way so much so they will take a gap year even though they have offers from another good university, too many to name them. Some based their decision that only LSE will give them the headstart they need in their career. Many LSE graduates have found that it takes more than a degree from LSE and many have found that they didn't need an LSE degree to achieve their dreams. What do you think?

Useless thread, LSE will only at best open doors, it's down to the individual to take advantage of what's on offer and max. out their status as a candidate for whatever job they're applying to.

You could replace this with any reputable uni and get the exact same result. It doesn't mean anything, and I have no idea why this has only been posted on LSE's subforum.

Because quite a few waste another year trying to get into their dream uni. Such passion doesn't run as high with most other universities unlike Oxbridge and LSE.

Any numbers on that? Is this just anecdotal evidence?

I have not scour UCAS or any source for data, but the discussions on Studentroom does indicate that applicants do try to resit or do a gap year to reapply the next year just to get into their dream university, usually Oxbridge and LSE.
