Can vaping cause tonsilitis?

Good morning all,

I have never had tonsilitis before, however about 4 weeks ago I started vaping, I recently brought a new clearomiser, as my other one was burnt out. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem?

This isn't the only possible thing that could cause it... I also work at my local medical centre on reception mainly, we have a urgent care here which sees to people with tonsilitis and colds ect.

Which of these two seem to be the most likely? I've worked at the medical centre for 3 months now, but I've vaped before and never had this problem.

Tonsillitis is an infection in your tonsils and occurs for basically the same reasons as any infection (like colds etc). The most likely cause will be coming into contact with somebody who has it as far as I am aware. I'm sure you could also get it if your vaping device (sorry I have no idea what they are actually called) is dirty or has come into contact with something.
If you did get it from vaping it's not because of vaping, that just happened to be how it got to you. It's nothing special about the vaping itself that caused it. Just as if you got it from your nan it's cos she happened to be the person with tonsillitis, rather than your nan causing it herself.
No, but I've heard it causes douchebagitis.
Tonsilitis or not, vaping is still safer than smoking cigarettes. Cigarettes have over 4000 chemicals put in for different reasons like suppressing coughing and to amplify the hit which makes the nicotine hit much more addictive. Not to mention, there's 43 carcinogens and also tar in cigarettes.

Very unlikely with vaping. Most likely you'v contracted it from the patients at your work, especially if they had bacterial infections as they are most contagious.

Tonsillitis is usually caught from contact with others who have it. I had it in July as I caught it from someone who I had been working with that day. If you do have it, or even think that you do, make sure to go to the doctors asap... I waited about a week since it started, and that was a terrible mistake. It was unbearable 😒 I don't think you can get it from vaping, only other people... Unless you have let someone use your e cig.

You'll have caught it from someone, most likely at work. I'd lay off the vaping while you have it though because it could irritate your throat further
I used to vape and my tonsil got swollen and painful for months even after quiting vape i also cough with phlegm when vaping.
