what if....

i was wondering as i am currently doing first year criminal psychology- if it is possible to transfer to a different university doing the same course but as a second year once my first year has been completed????

It's possible IF the courses are compatible. The only way to find that out is to contact other universities you're interested in ASAP and asking them if they'll accept applications for the second year (and whether they need those applications through UCAS before the 15 January deadline).

Get on the phone ASAP to start asking. There's a stickied thread in the Applications and UCAS forum called University Transfers FAQ which covers how to go about things in the first post.
