I think it'll be a really high amount. Last week I looked at a Pizza box (was having my treat for the week!) and saw it was 1600 which I thought was crazy! Still ate it though, mmmm
I've put 1100-1200. These things are often deceptive. A standard pizza from a supermarket is quite often 1000 calories, and I would say this is that kind of league. Why?
It varies, as portion size/type of oil etc varies, most of the calories are from the fat, since they are dripping in the stuff,
But i would say a good estimate is 1500 kcals.
As you say a supermarket pizza is 1000, and Fish and chips is easily more... imagine whats in a takeaway pizza since supermarket ones are much much smaller!
It actually depends - I would say its better than a whole pizza, better than a full indian/chinese etc to yourself, with fried rice. But if boiled rice was chosen, and the dish shared between 2 the indian or whatever would be a lot lot healthier.

Well yes, but then fish and chips between two people would be better too if we're comparing standard takeaway portions.
Personally I've never yet managed to eat a standard takeaway portion of anything - there is simply wayyyyyyy too much food. Luckily on the rare occassions I have a takeaway my local will now do kiddies portions for me. lol
I can understand a mean of around 950 with a standard deviation of 300 but 1500?!?
A study was published a few weeks ago, which found that the average was 1500! It was much more than even i thought - My guess before that was 1000 however.

Thats cool! I should do that! lol!
I would eat a full fish and chips (you can't freeze them), but if i was home alone i would freeze half my indian.
I think you eat it all because you've been given that much, if you were given less you would porobably still feel just as satisfied. (my theory anyway) I don't get fish and chips much since at uni they cost £5... they are only £3.00 at home!
I can see how they would easily be 1500 cals on average. When I get fish and chips, I always share the chips, or jsut have a couple. I prefer the fish anyway and can never eat a whole portion! I think I get bored of the taste of chips once I've had a few, and that's partly why I never eat the whole portion.
