I'm a biomedical science graduate, the tend to ask for biology as a large amount of the course is based on Biology. The more prestigious university would more than likely stick to this, the less prestigious ones would likely accept you providing you do well in your A levels and demonstrate that you're able to learn. Chemistry and physics would definitely go in your favour, biology would be desirable.

Check the entry requirements for the unis you are looking at, but from experience they tend to ask for Biology, and if they don't then you would still be at a disadvantage as the course is comprised hugely of biology, and so you would have to work extra hard than someone who did do A-level biology.
