Shall I confront the catfish? Watch

Just before Christmas, I got a message from a guy on Twitter out of the blue-the usual sort of "you're so pretty etc". I knew immediately it would be a catfish and I was confirmed right after a little online digging.

I didn't give away any personal information and I guess you could say I've been humouring the catfish? IMO, it takes a special sort of sad person to go through such a facade-I feel sorry for them a little but also amused at the fact that they think they're actually catfishing me. And I have a niggling feeling (I don't know why) that it's someone I know.

So my question is, shall I confront the catfish and let them know I knew they were fake all along? Or go along with the pretence to see if they slip clues (and thus confirm my suspicions that it's someone I know?)

Any suggestions will be helpful, especially if you've been in a similar situation yourself.

Anon as I have friends on here!

Why are you wasting your time? So you're gonna just say "surprise! I knew you were fake all along!", that doesn't achieve anything. I've been in that situation, I just blanked them and moved on with my life.

    Stop playing games. It's pointless.

I'm kinda curious about what'll happen. Keep going until you know who it is and update. I'm not going to say no to some free entertainment

Marry him. That is the best way to turn the joke around on a catfish.

Play along with them if you are bored, it can be entertaining. If you actually have stuff to do, then contront and move on.
