This always happens random thoughts just keep coming into my head everytime I try to relax and not think.

Past few days I havent been able to sleep until 1am and I have a test tomorrow.

My struggle. I'm tired. But it's one thought after the over. Overthinking is annoying oh my goodness.

Hopefully you get some sleep soon
Maybe put in headphones and listen to some rain music or just river flowing. That always relaxes me and it blocks out everything

Maybe try listening to spoken word thing on ur phone - just loud enough to hear? Having something to listen to takes my mind off my own thoughts and I doze off
I listen to radio 4 dramas and they stop playing when they have finished. Rarely hear the end of one 😄

Yeah, this was me yesterday. Despite putting my phone away, just couldn't sleep until after 12am.
Think about something INCREDIBLY boring.. count sheep maybe?
If you've got a test, then try to spend your time awake to recall information. Revision and it'll tire you hopefully.

    I can so relate!
Go to bed at 10pm and just lie there thinking and fall asleep at like 2am!
Thouse thoughts just keep flooding in and giving me energy, i guess. Pro/Con of being very introverted

I don't even need to have thoughts to not fall asleep.
Count yourself lucky you aren't totally boring yourself to death.

What you could do is write out all the thoughts that keep coming to you? Works for some :dontknow:
Failing that count sheep, but backwards from 100
Or put on something and focus on that to stop thoughts coming.

I normally listen to ASMR. It doesn't give me any "tingles" but they are very relaxing.

Listening to rain sounds can help.

Recently I've been doing this thing where whenever I want to go to sleep, I try to come up with a story in my head, and think about it until I fall asleep. Every time I lose my train of thought I start all over again, and this somehow makes me fall asleep. Maybe try that? :')

Regular exercise will fix that. Makes you tired in the evening.

As ChickenMadness says, you should exercise at least a little.

    Here's some good advice: http://www.cosmopolitan.com/health-f...o-go-to-sleep/

Also make sure you avoid looking at tablets, mobile phones, computers before you go to sleep:
