I'm sure I already know the answer, but anyway..

I started in a course that I knew would be difficult and hit the ground running but I still had some bad grades before christmas in important assignments, and while studying during these last couple of weeks I've come to the conclusion that this is probably just beyond my capability. The subjects i'm thinking about switching between have no common units so it would be a total switch

If i'm told there's no way I can can do it then I have a job I can go back to and reapply for 2017 entry, but I'm wondering how that works with student finance

You have a "gift" year with Student Finance, so that's not a problem.

Which number are you meant to call for student finance queries? The switchboard is very limited and difficult to get through on this number
