I'm thinking of going to Lancaster to study Law, and I was wondering which is the best college if you love drinking and partying. I was also wondering if I would be able to have my partner come down from home and stay with me.

If you love drinking and partying, maybe Lancaster isn't the best university for you. And, all the colleges are generally quite similar for the most part

Griezdale has the reputation for being the 'party college', however, I'm not sure I could testify to that.. All the colleges are the same really, and with whom and how often you will party will depend on the people in your flat/societies/lectures, etc. more than anything else. Pendle has its own bar and is the venue for a lot of the bigger freshers parties and other late-night events, but in any case people go in to town to clubs on friday night, so basically, just pick the college depending on what kind of room you like the best.

As for your partner, I'm sure she'll be welcome if I understand correctly that she will only be a short-term stay.. Also, the porters lodge has mattresses that you can rent for 1pound a night. I wouldn't know what the rules are for long-term stay.

I get the impression that wouldn't be necessary.

But basically all colleges are the same. I was in Grizedale college and it wasn't particularly party-ish.
