    Well much more die from smoking and as I lost a parent because of it I m obviously a bit biased. Excessive drinking is also very harmful so as a society we need to help people to reduce both.

    I think large quantities of alcohol can have many negative effects on your body and mind.

    Excessive drinking can cause you to be violent, have problems with walking and coordination, experience confusion and memory loss. So imo it's worse.

    Smoking is probably more socially acceptable and may have less of an impact on those around you (alcohol tends to cause behavioural/ mood issues like anger or violence if consumed too often). Alcohol may also be more likely to get you into dangerous situations.
    In terms of health though I think both have an equal potential to cause serious or life threatening damage.
