Hi, okay so i'm applying for mechanical engineering BEng at:
    Loughborough
    Leicester
    Nottingham
    Birmingham
    De Montfort

I'm just worried that i have left applying too late. I will most likely have my application in by the 10th of jan and I know that this is before the 15th (equal consideration). However, my main concern is that most if not all of the offers will have been handed out already and I wont really stand a chance of getting an offer from the universities that I want to go to as they are competitive courses.
How do I stop stressing over this?:o:(:s-smilie::eek3:

    Thanks

Well I applied for medicine, got 4 rejections, declined my non medicine and then went for mechanical engineering at a Russell group uni during extras and got in 2 weeks later. Might not be same for Loughborough but don't stress it.

As long as you apply before the deadline you will be fine, as universities have to give you equal consideration. Lots of applicants wait until January to apply in order to make sure that their choices are the right ones (I did). The courses you have selected likely have a very high offer rate, although jneill seems to know better what links to use and buttons to click to get the actual offer rates.

    Use Which Uni...
    e.g. L'boro - http://university.which.co.uk/loughb...000-h300-45120 = 82% Offer Rate

And yes equal consideration means just that. Hit that deadline and your chances are exactly the same as someone who applied in September/October.

Unis have to give 'equal consideration' to all applications received before the deadline.

If your application is good enough, you have as much chance of getting an offer if you apply in January as if you'd applied in October.

Universities do not 'run out of offers'. They score and rank applications as they come in and make offers gradually. Lots of people apply in December and January, and still get offers.
