    Try and find a few things that are related to your subjects or that demonstrate/help you to develop a personal skill. Most importantly things that you'll enjoy doing.

    -Events, museums, lectures, magazine articles, books, sport.........

    Yeah volunteer whenever you can. Help out at school on STEM days if you are sciency??

    Just use your free time to find out more about your subject.

    Online free courses, online lectures/tED talks, podcasts, documentaries (tv and radio), read university websites, blogs etc etc

    Follow your interests and it won't feel like hard work.
