whats the highest candidate number you can get?
sorry random question :biggrin:

I suppose it is 9999. It would make you the 9999th student at your centre/school taking GCSEs that year.

Doesn't work like that. We have about 600 max doing external exams (Just over 1000 in our school), which is about 3000 less than the candidate numbers we (Our year anyway) had.

Yes, but if there literally was 9999 people in a year, then i'm sure they would order them that way. But i seriously doubt any year is that big..

But i know what you mean. In my school, it went like this:
1xxx - year 10 with 3 invidual digits
2xxx - year 11 with 3 invidual digits
3xxx - year 12 with 3 invidual digits
4xxx - year 13 with 3 invidual digits
5xxx - other years etc with 3 invidual digits
:p:

My candidate number this year was 2006. ;yes;

Lucky, you had a number you could remember :p: I had to check my exam timetable every exam to check my number :frown: I don't get how our school works out the candidate numbers though, because I had the same candidate number for my maths in Yr 10 as well (I think I did anyway :O)

At my school, the candidate numbers are formed with the first digit being the official year you take your GCSEs, so mine began with '6'. The other three digits came from where I was in the alphabet:smile: That made me candidate '6263'.:biggrin:

Shouldn't do.:smile: Mine's the same now as I had during my GCSEs. If your school do change them every year though, they're just making more work for themselves:p:

Did you move schools/to a different 6th form college?:confused:

I'm 2121- I assume it means I'm 121st out of 150 in the year register-wise, because my English exam text was number 121 and they assign them alphabetically. :smile:
