    Hi,

Last year I stayed in shared accomdation and a bill was produced in my flatmates name. He has refused to pay the bill and I was wondering if the company might chase me for the money as I was on the tencancy?

    Is this possible?

    Thanks,

If it's in his name he legally has to pay it.. He can't refuse..they'll mark it on his credit file

Unpaid bills and credit issues are civil matters, not legal ones.

Why is he refusing to pay the bill? Isn't that just foolish as it'll catch up with him?

I'm pretty sure if it's in his name only then it's his responsibility.

It depends what the bill is for. and what your tenancy agreement says. You also dont say why he refused to pay the bill.
