Hi guys I wanted some advice about the situation I am currently in regarding my predicted grade for A level Maths. In AS Maths I got an A grade, as I did in GCSE. In the AS level January mocks last year however, I got a U grade for Maths. Turning that U grade into an A within 5 months showed my ability in maths and I asked my Head of Maths (who has never taught me but is doing everyone's Maths Predicted grade) to predict me an A*. My Head of Maths refused to predict 5 me an A* so I focused on my other subjects, in the meantime I got a U in my Maths Mock exam. He then lowered my predicted grade to a C a due to my poor mock grade. I have a track record of attaining good actual grades failing mocks (GCSE mocks I got a lot of C's and D's but never got less than a B in my actual exams) so is there anything I can do to persuade my Head of Maths to give me an A predicted grade (which was my AS grade). I have already tried pleading with him but he won't budge. Any ideas?

Don't worry, the university will see your A grade at AS and ignore your predicted grade.

If they see my actual grade for Maths they will also see my actual grade for my other subjects which are both C's but predicted A's (ironic right, the subjects I got C's in predicted me A's but the subject I got an A in predicted me a C). WILL this hinder my application?

Ask any other teachers to convince him? I was predicted lower than my AS grades (BBC), but still got all my offers (for AAB and one for A*AB) for Maths at uni. Depending on the course you're applying, you'll have to sound like you're very interested in the desired course you want to do and can back it up with your AS grade in that particular subject.

Mhm.. good question. I think the fact that you got at least 1 A at AS shows that you are capable of getting an A and they will take that into account.
