    I haven't even sent off my applications yet since I'm still waiting on a reference and I spent like overall 5 hours writing the statement (including the first few drafts), so long as you get a final draft done within the next few days, then you're probably fine. Just be sure to proof read it and/or get someone else to read it to make sure it's up to standard.

    Last year I sent my application just hours before the deadline and still managed to get offers from all of my choices.

    If anyone's interested, I managed to write my personal statement and complete my application before the January 15th deadline and got the offers for all the unis I sent applications to
