# For M2 geniuses watch

1. ￼￼￼￼box of mass 2kg is projected with speed 6ms-1 up a line of greatest slope of a rough plane inclined at 30 degrees to the horizontal. the coefficient of friction between the box and plane is 1/3. calculate the distance the box travels up the plane before coming to rest??

I worked my answer to be 1.34m but the solution bank says otherwise. In the solution bank the reaction force is said to be 2gsin30 but shouldn't it be 2gcos30?? This is why i think my answer is different. Not sure if this is me being dumb or the textbook giving a wrong answer again.

The contact force is 2g cos 30.
