I've been given this question with no further detail. I have thought about exploring it by looking at the meaning of power such that we may view people such as genghis khan and the Mongol dynasty as powerful and makers of history. However we could also view Kazahkstan as powerful due to geographical location leading to numerous invasions of the country. Any ideas how to tackle this best, any history uni students/ teachers would be very much appreciated?

Does being invaded many times really indicate you are powerful?

Is history an objective account of the past?

History is written by the victors. If Germany had won the Second World War, I have a feeling that the course of events would be portrayed in an entirely different light. If in a position to do so, countries try to portray their history in the most favouring way, just look at the selective teaching in Japan.
