Hi, I've been researching types of contraception for quite some time now. I'm 18 and have never been on any type of BC before. I was considering the pill or the implant but am too worried about the possible side effects of hormonal BC, as it is impossible to tell how it will effect you until you try it. I have also been looking at the IUS and copper IUD. I'd like an IUD but already have heavy 7 day periods, but I've recently heard of Gynefix and I can't find much info about it online. Has anyone here had Gynefix fitted, if so for how long and what's your experience been like? I would also like to know if anyone knows of any NHS clinics in London that offer it.

I m afraid you couldn't tell if you ll get side effects with an IUD either, if you speak to your nearest sexual health clinic they should be able to tell you where to get it.
