For years teachers at my school banged on about this site being a 'valuable revision resource' etc etc and now that I've finally had a look, some of the threads are more akin to 4chan than anything else (for example, "I can't stop masturbating to my ex"). Like, what is this site actually for?

It's entirely what you make it.

There are many threads of the kind you mention, and some forums are just for this kind of thing.

But if you go to the Study Help forums, they have many other students who can help you, not to mention the odd teacher...

nobody really cares what the site is for, as long as new users such as yourself sign up and generate ad revenue, it's all good!!

Oh and things get a lil crazy around exam results day, think of all the juicy ad money from thousands of unique visitors
