Fished by Homerton ! Anyone got any (honest) info about it ? Please ?!
    Congratulations!
Current first year student: Homerton is great! It's really friendly (everyone says that about their college but I think it especially true for Homerton, because it is far away so people socialise more in college). The first-year accommodation is all en-suite, and also pretty cheap (I think the rooms are slightly small, but they get bigger in later years). It's a very new college in terms of having full college status, but the original buildings are relatively old and aesthetically pleasing. By the time you arrive, they'll hopefully have built the fancy new hall, which should be good. The grounds are big because it's out of town. The food's pretty nice.

The two big stereotypes about Homerton are that everyone here is doing Education, and that it's really far away from everything. The first one is partially true (it's about 30% I think) but it doesn't really affect anything. The second one is true in comparison to all the other colleges except Girton, but it doesn't matter too much most of the time. Cycling into town/to lectures doesn't take that long, and you can take a bus if you want (until the council change the bus route). It's pretty difficult to walk to lectures, but some people still try! It's annoying if you do Computer Science and have to cycle to Churchill and the lab (out of town on the opposite side and up the only hill in Cambridge) but for any other subject you should be fine. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

Drink with me to days gone by
Sing with me the songs we knew
Here's to Oxford, Cambridge who went to our heads
Here's to all the applicants who will be sleeping happily in bed
Here's to them And here's to you!

Drink with me to days gone by
Can it be we fear this time?
Will everyone remember you when you fall?
Could it be that your rejection means nothing at all?
Is this process just one more lie?

Drink with me to days gone by
To the life that used to be
The time of decisions have been and gone (not exactly but )
Let all of us remember this experience with awe
Here's to you and here's to me

    One more Les Mis song

I am sorry if I missed anybody when scrolling through the thread. Congratulations to everybody who made it and :console: I send my commiserations who didn't.

Thank you. If you're seriously considering reapplying, I'd say to make sure you do well in your exams so you exceed the offer requirements in order to stand a chance of being accepted.
    Yep, on point.

Most successful reapplicants exceed the typical offer.

Thank you. If you're seriously considering reapplying, I'd say to make sure you do well in your exams so you exceed the offer requirements in order to stand a chance of being accepted. You don't have to spend a gap year working. It's a fantastic opportunity to take up new hobbies. For example, I started learning violin and guitar. I recently started coding as well. 8 would have never had the time to do all these things when I was studying for my final exams.
Thank you very much for the encouragement, I will make sure that wherever I will be in the upcoming year, I won't waste it. However, my situation is a bit more complicated, so I'm not sure they would accept my gap year...

Guys, friend of mine applied to St Catherine's for English and still has heard back nothing! No email, no letter. Nothing.
Is it normal for Cambridge not to contact you on the given day?
Congrats to everyone who got an offer!!
Thinking positively is there a possibility that the letter is taking longer than usual to arrive? Nothing's certain until they hear but it seems more likely than a missing email perhaps? If they don't hear anything by the end of tomorrow they could try ringing Lucy Murray at the Admissions Office?

Delighted to have received an offer of A*AA for Cambridge.

Still probably going to reject it though as I prefer Durham. Although a lot of that preference is taken up at the thought of seeing CheeseIsVeg in Durham. Where are you up to Cheese?
    Congratulations!!!!!! :hugs:
Awww It would be so cool to go to see you
I'm not sure what you mean but I received my Oxford rejection a while ago and am still waiting to hear from Durham . I have all my other offers though :yy:

Glad to hear about your offer, even though it's rather pointless for you. As someone who's decided for Durham over Newcastle, what attracts you to it?

Not sure if you know or not, but the Comp Sci option in Part IA NatSci has a reputation for being disproportionately difficult compared to the other courses.
My experience (as a full CompSci) of NatScis doing CompSci is that they either find it incredibly difficult or embarrass proper CompScis with how good they are. They make anyone who wants to choose it it do an online course before they arrive, so that should filter out people who will really struggle with it.
