yeah it is one of the nicest college in terms of aesthetics (though I've only seen the pictures online and haven't been able to get a pic of undergrad accommodation) but I suppose for some people feeling outside/excluded from the bubble of the town centre would be a turn-off. i quite enjoy walking anyway so won't mind the 30 mins if I do end up there - and the swimming pool is a very attractive prospect
Yeah I guess, as someone who has walked to Girton it really isn't that bad - but it just seems a long way in comparison to all the central colleges. Not sure exactly what undergrad accommodation is like but there are Victorian rooms in the main building and newer en suite ones in a wing built in the last decade - one quite appealing aspect is that all freshers go on the same corridor which I think would be nice, another advantage is that you are allowed to leave stuff in rooms over the holidays which is pretty good

 she really does love Exeter Cool FCH I honestly really liked FCH :yep: Hahaha the plane tickets are what puts everything over the top! Summer will be great

Hahaha I don't like Physics and Maths Chem is ok, I like Bio , I guess that cemented your opinion about not being a doctor then :yep:

Hahaha I just call every exam an exam and don't differentiate between mocks and non mocks I just find maths boring yeah I think writing an essay is just sad...

    Posted from TSR Mobile
Yeah, I thought the FCH was really unique! I didn't really make the connection that adding a year of study abroad adds to the tuition total (I'm a dunce sometimes) so hopefully if I end up going I can remove it  And yeah, honestly - I wish Cambridge would follow in Oxford's footsteps with Skype interviews, but getting to go was so magical!

Chem is okay, I would assume you like Bio it really did, I hate dissecting things so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't make the best doctor anyway lol...

I guess exams are exams either way I never really have mocks in school except for just SAT or AP tests. Maths is the backbone for everything but yeah writing essays for it seems sad.

Hahaha you didn't? ;p I added a year abroad because I might want to go to the US or elsewhere for a year :/ but I might remove it if I end up going as well I mean Cambridge offers overseas Asia interviews though so that's a plus for Cambs maybe if they offer one in the US xD

Meh not hard to guess that I like Bio mocks are pretty annoying tbh... I don't like dissecting things too Is maths really the backbone for everything Essays are def sad :yep: first draft due Monday :/

I'd love to study abroad too, but convincing my parents to let me study undergrad in the UK would prob require the argument that it would take me 3 years and be cheaper than US unis because of it. I'd have to rethink it if I ended up going too I noticed they did offer them, in addition to Canada - I couldn't fly there instead since applicants have to be residents Cambs prob doesn't think there are enough American applicants?

AP mocks prob have nothing on IB  You'd think most bio lovers like dissecting things, but I know there's different branches of bio that don't require that unpleasant stuff lol. It really is, maybe not everything, butof course there wouldn't be much understanding of science without math. And that sucks celebrate after Monday with a trip to the movies

Hahaha that's true :yep: less time and it is definitely cheaper if US doesn't offer financial aid. You applied for ESPS in UCL? Hahaha I think the one in HK as well, you need to be a resident of HK to have an interview there :/ More Oxford applicants in the US compared to Cambridge :yep:

IB mocks are coming up soon :eek2: AP mocks are not that bad, cuz we have to take 2-3 exams per subject.... Biology is such a broad field, both on the macro and micro levels. Hahaha well modern society is capitalist in nature, so you can make that argument that everything has something to do with maths and yeah development of science is very much influenced by mathematical models and theories. Meh... still have more days of school after that so probs not :/ homework never stops

Most people are using this one now: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/sho...8#post69684276

(I do question the use of having two seperate 2017 threads, be much more useful to just shut this one down)

Fairs. I'd have preferred it if we had just renamed this thread to reflect the offer-holders status and let everyone continue posting on it, whether applicants have heard back or not [heck, oxford plebs post on the thread, pending applicants can post on an offer holder thread  ] but that's personal opinion.

@jneill, I would like to say firstly that I am your big fan and/or admirer. Thank you for the great work you have been doing. U are like my encyclopaedia for Cambridge-related matters and a reliable source too. With that said, @steamboatMickey, I don't know what to say girl...congrats. Words cannot explain how glad I was when you had that offer on Monday. You deserve it. Oh and @wolfmoon88, fam, commiseration. Good luck with UCL and better luck if you decide to reapply. Maybe you shouldn't apply to The Other Side again. Instead, consider the greater institution...CANTAB. Oh I nearly forgot, to some of our brothers and sisters who were not awarded a place, commiseration. I know this might sound cliché but God has a plan for all of us. The fact that you weren't awarded a place doesn't mean you are inferior or not good enough. Trust me, you would not have been interviewed if they thought you didn't deserve to be there. As the good Book says "Many are called but few are chosen". The fact that you were not part of that few doesn't necessarily mean you are not destined for greatness. Just ask yourself, "How many affluent men are alumni of prestigious universities?". I can name countless people who never had the privilege to attend these reputable institutions. Remember, attending CANTAB is NOT A GUARANTEE for greatness. Your worth in life shouldn't be based on the institution you attended but rather the right choices you made. God's plan for your life will be realised with or without reputable institutions. I can only say, reputable unis might aid you towards greatness because of the specialised training and resources they offer. With that say, I will finally conclude by saying I HAVE AN OFFER
