I was wondering that if i fail in one unit of maths and get a"U" but pass the other units, will i still get a pass certificate and apply to unis? i finished my C1,C2,S1,S2 but i am worried about C34 which i might get a U. will i still pass considering i get a pass mark out of 600?

Yes, any ums you get from C34, even from a U grade, will be added to your other results. Your total mark out of 600 will then determine your grade.

What matters is the total number of marks you can get - individual unit grades are irrelevant. It is possible to get an A* whilst scoring 0 on an AS unit.

So failing in individual units wont matter as long as i get a total pass mark out of 600? my IAL exam C34 is on 17th of this month for which i didnt prepare much. i am worried that i might fail in C34. And i did cash in edexcel C1, C2 and S1 on 2013 and S2 on june 2016 with passing grades. I don't need A*, i just want to pass a levels with hopefully a "C" or even a "D" is okay and get into a university (they want a minimum of "D" in order to let me sit for admission test) because i don't think that i'll be needing maths in my future.

Correct, what is your total ums from c1/2 plus s1/2?

Total marks i got for C1, C2 and S1 (XMA01) is 176/300. And on S2(WST02) i got 57/100. So what do you think? if i can make it to 300/600 will i pass? I know they are very crappy marks but considering what i went through the past years i just want to get this thing over with. And hopefully studying hard in university will cover them up.

You need 240/600 overall for an E and 300 for a D. You currently have 233/400 so as long as you can get 7/200 you will pass the A level and if you can get 67/200 you will get a D.

Thank you very much for the infos. By the way, do you have any tips that i can use for my exam? im using modular C3 and C4 books(blue and green colored) by keith pledger. i started practicing some older past papers that i had from 2005 to 2010. will the older ones help though? i skipped learning integration and focusing more on vectors, binomial expansion, trig, functions, exponential and log and transforming graphs. doing some differentiation too but struggling quite a bit on that. Do you have any suggestions for me?
