I'm currently year 12 and am studying English Lit, History, Government and Politics, Maths and Critical Thinking. I really want to drop maths right now due to knowing that I won't get a decent grade which could mess up my chances of going to a Russell Group university (I'd like to study Law or History). Would dropping maths now mess up my chances even more or would I be okay due to having four other AS level subjects?

    Hiya,

Dropping maths now won't affect your application at all- especially due to the new a level system (I didn't have any AS grades). It would be better to drop it now than to get a bad grade or to compromise your other subjects.

    1) if you're not doing well in it, even if you enjoy it, I'd say drop it
    2) I'd also have to recommend that you don't study law - it's not how you probably imagine it as (as I took it myself and dropped out)
