This is a general chatroom for any chemistry related topics. We can branch into other things but we could help each other out. I would really like if university students could also join. Currently in year 13 now and I plan to do the chemistry olympiad. Just drop by and say hi we could get a conversation going.

Well, I wish you the best of luck, if you have the chance to participate in chemistry olympiad. Would you publish your result after olympiad then?

By the way what topics do you like most of all in chemistry? just a question to break the ice.

Anyone is allowed in this thread and what is the IAL? As long as you are interested in chemistry it is fair game to join.

Well I like organic chemistry as it is like a puzzle. Spectroscopy is nice but very fustrating. Also how do you use a hydronium ion and a alkene to get a ketone. Do you know a possible mechanism of how that could work? I could only get OH

What oxidising agents do you know?

Is it a primary or secondary alcohol?
