Plagiarism in references. Is it checked?

I wonder, whether there is something like personal statements' similarity detection, but for references. I have never heard about anything like that, however I am sure that some tutors do copy too... Any facts about it?

Pretty sure they must copy since they are unable these days to write a simple report without a crib sheet of "handy and appropriate phrases to use" or write out a curriculum for the term and just substitute in the kid's name and "he/she"
They always caught people out 9 times out of 10 when it came to this at the college I attended! :teehee:

No, they don't worry about plagiarism for references.
