I am international student thinking about applying for grad school in the UK. I know in canada it's not very important but in the USA it is. Canada usually funds all your studies while the USA doesn't btw....

GRE is not mandatory at most UK unis. There are some exceptions
Imperial College requires GRE for MSc
Oxford and LSE requires GRE for Economics, Finance and Management courses
Some programs may specify that GRE is not required but recommended (LSE MSc international relations)
some business schools require GRE or GMAT for MBA programs

Imperial requires it for /select/ MScs, not all, and definitely not most.

I hadnt heard of it until applying and for UK students to AMBS it wasnt needed (thank god) but for foreign / international students I believe it is used.
