Supplementary grant?

Hey,

I looked on the 'payments' section on student finance website and it says 'loan to be paid' and 'supplementary grant' but it says my loan was deducted the amount of the grant, does this mean that I get the loan and supplementary grant? Is the grant paid by university of the government?

Basically most people get in the region of £4,000. so you could be entitled to a £4000 loan and a £2000 grant, but you would still only get £4000 because the grant money is subtracted from the loan. It means you have less to pay back. Thats how it worked the last 2 years for me anyway.

The government pays your supplementary grant but your university might also give you a grant of up to £1000 depending on your household income.

I'm studing parttime with open university on my online account with student finance its showing I've been accepted for a parttime grant and a supplementary grant just phoned student finance after being told a month ago by two different people from there I'm getting the two to now being told I'm only getting the one I'm so confused
