And when we sang "The broad beans are sleeping in their blankety bed," we had to whisper it so we didn't wake them up... Just us?

I am surprised this one has not been mentioned yet. It was the best thing about the Harvest festival church service.

we are the children from ''x'' primary school, and then there's a rap in there
OMG I REMEMBER IT!

We are the children of X school
We take pride in the things we do
Learning together and having fun
Who's for a good time: EV-ERY-ONE!

 :rofl3:

The rap's something like:

Gimme 1 *clap", gimme 2 *clap clap*, gimme 1,2,3 *clap clap clap*
Give it all you've got
Cos you've really got a lot
Give it your heart
your mind
your soul
don't stop

Edit: OMG I FOUND IT  > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKqsX8PyAGo (not my school, but the lyrics are still there lmao)
Edit 2: I actually got the lyrics spot on 5 years after leaving lmao. Painful memories.

All I remember about singing at primary school, was either me standing mouthing the words, or making up my own inappropriate lyrics and singing them instead. Especially remember singing those Christmas songs e.g little donkey (or my version, big fat donkey), light a candle in the window (throw a candle out the window). Brings back some funny memories, take me back please I don't want to do anymore GCSEs.

We sang this really depressing song about Jesus being crucified called 'Lead Like a Lamb to The Slaughter'. The pre-chorus alternated between drawn out 'Bleeding, bleeding...' or 'Dying, dying...'

Ah, church of england schools....

OMGGGG its honestly one of the underrated primary songs. I remember my friend sitting next to me in assembly and be the only gal who could fire through the verses

I know I'm necroing this thread but honestly what the **** I thought i'd never hear that song again...

Idk if this was for everyone but it literally had 'insert school name here' in the lyrics sheet thing that was projected onto the wall. They acted like it was some exclusive song but it was obviously not

And did everyone else use one of those old fashioned visualiser things (with the light and the transparent sheets of lyrics)

edit: the comments are full of kids claiming the song belongs to their school
