Hi, newcomer here!
So I recently sat for the November 2016 AS Biology and Chemistry exams to try improve on my scores from the first March series exams earlier. I'd abruptly shifted schools halfway through from another syllabus and had only four months to learn the AS syllabus for four subjects from scratch; naturally, I only scored as much as my hasty prep allowed: 87 for Bio, 88 for Physics and English, and a sad 77 for Chem. I'd had all-A* for IGCSE. I decided to improve my chem and bio scores through a November session resit, and prepare better.
Prepare I did: I wrote my papers at least 50% better than last time (easier than the hellish March series) and my Chem practical was nowhere as disastrous (although I did suffer a mouthful of permanganate). I maintained a healthily low level of pessimism about my results, for once.
My results came in quite recently: 84 on Bio and 78 on Chem. Virtually identical to last time. The preparatory disparity was startlingly invisible.
Which brings me to the next course of action: re-evaluation. And I'm confused as to where to start.
Is there someplace I can find the November 16 Zone 2 papers and schemes early so I can self-evaluate with my teachers?
If I do send in a remark request, is it possible for me to be issued a copy of the mark scheme with my script?
If I were to resit a second time, would I be able to carry forward certain components instead of rewriting them?
Speaking of components, I've read that the multiple choice component wouldn't be re-evaluated since the marking's automated, but isn't the final tally and evaluation manual?
Any help at all answering these silly questions of mine would be thoroughly appreciated!
Thank you very much!
