I'm applying for a job at greggs, and they've asked for references, I can give them my college tutor as one, but since they've requested two, I'm going to have to ask at my current job at a franchise McDonald's, how do I go about asking while I still work there, and if I don't get the new job?

Its usually standard to put your business manager down as a reference. You could put another manager down though if you think your store would allow it.
Most future employers dont ask for a reference until they actually offer you a job, so dont worry about that. And if they say anything at mcdonalds, just say that its nearer to home/better hours/more money/whatever.
