I was just wondering because I want to apply to the University of Cambridge to study mathematics, say I get every single maths question correct in the interview would that essentially guarantee me a place or do they want you to get some/most of them wrong?

In interviews they're not looking for the right answers, they're looking at how well you sort through problems and what your thinking process is. They want to see how you work.
Interviews are only one part of your whole application, they can influence their decisions but they aren't a guarantee for anything.

They pressed my daughter until they stumped her. She thought she'd blown it, but they saw her style of thinking and she got her offer.

You'd never be able to, even if you could answer all the set questions they had in very good time, they'd still have problems which are actually unsolvable even to them, they want to see your thought process rather than content. I had my interview a month ago and at one of the preparation events a point was made that if you could answer every single question that they could possibly have for you perfectly, why would you even be bothering to go to university at all.

If they couldn't ask you a question you couldn't answer, you probably don't need to go to university!

But really it's more to do with seeing how you think than getting the answers right.
