    Hi, I'm looking to teach english abroad (in Japan) and in order to do so, I need to complete a TEFL course. I found this one, which is completely online;
    https://www.reed.co.uk/courses/tefl-...s/tefl/cardiff

    It's pretty cheap, but its the exact hours I need, is it too good to be true or is it a legitimate course?

    TIA

    Is there an independent awarding body that you could check this with?

    It's much better if you can do a course with an in person element if you don't have any other teaching experience.

    check here for some info on accreditation:

    generally I would think that you're going to get what you pay for with that sort of a course - what can they really be offering you for £30? I know the tutor I had during my TEFL course would not have made minimum wage purely for the time he spent marking my assignments if he'd received £30 and there will be other admin costs etc going on behind the scenes.
