I also don't suffer from BIID and don't want to chop any of my own limbs off but I can still point out how irrational it is to support or encourage any form of surgical amputation or self-mutilation in those cases.

What's the point you're really trying to make?
I'm wondering why you think lacking empathy makes you more qualified to judge how trans people should be treated by health professionals than the health professionals and the evidence based research that advocates for transition.

It's a bit irrational to dismiss medical research and clinical specialists because you think you know better. Are you also a fan of homeopathy?

So the point you're making is that I'm not empathetic enough (by your standards) to have an informed opinion?

    Dismissing what research specifically?

Clinical specialists are quite divided as far as I can see.

Saying that you don't understand trans people's desire for surgery is demonstrating a lack of empathy.

You seemed to be using that to justify your opinion that trans healthcare based on evidence and research is doing the wrong thing.

I'd suggest you have a read of the guidance linked to here : http://www.wpath.org/site_page.cfm?p...page_menu=1351 if you want to understand best practices in trans healthcare based on evidence and research.

Is it really a lack of empathy?
As someone with boundless empathy, can you truly say you completely understand what they think or feel?

Even after listening to and fully understanding what somebody has explained to you as their perspective, is it wrong to think of their thoughts or feelings as irrational?

I don't need to justify anything, I'm not a criminal or villain for having an opinion that's different to yours. You're not even providing an effective counter argument.

Have you researched what other experts say? You seem to be under the impression that all experts in this field have to be under the same banner and share the same opinion.

that's a costume, the body hasn't been altered.
That costume turns this boy into a space rocket as much as a synthetic penis turns a woman into a man or silicone breasts turn a man into a woman.

This craziness really needs to stop....

I am well aware of the "expertise " of the vocal doctors who argue against transition as effective treatment and the studies that the mis quote as evidence for their opinions.

They have as much scientific rigour to them as homeopathy advocates.

If you're so confident that the wpath and nhs treatment pathways are wrong then feel free to share the evidence you've based that judgement on. Both sets of guidelines are evidence based and subject to improvement - if conversion therapy is effective then there should be proof that it has worked.

You have so far ignored everything a great portion of what I have said and instead opted to berate me with false assertions and assumptions. So why should I bother writing something so long winded?

You've now stated that not only is my opinion invalid because I'm not an expert but that all experts who disagree with you are untrustworthy or are incapable of understanding simple data.

I don't really like the sound of it.

What about women with daughters? Would they feel comfortable aiding their daughter in the toilet whilst a grown man is in the cubicle directly next to them who could take a peek if he wanted to?
I kinda worries me that this is the first thing you though of. I mean, are you just assuming that anyone with a penis is incaple from stopping themselves from looking at kids genitals if presented with the oppertunity? Cos I think that's just you.

Not even considering something that could be beneficial just because someone could do something that's already a punishable crime is dumb. It's like saying we shouldn't have shops cos people might shop lift.

No, I'm just saying that some women may feel uncomfortable with it.
Tbh, people should use whatever toilet they feel comfortable with, but don't be surprised if you get funny looks.
I saw a video on Facebook today about the problems that trans people face on a daily basis. There was one about a trans woman who identified as Hannah but hadn't transitioned fully so her voice was still very deep. She called her gp to confirm an appointment and the receptionist didn't believe that she was talking to a woman because of the deep voice so she kept using male pronouns like 'sir'. Now I can see why some may interpret that as ignorant, but it should obviously be expected. IMO, If you know that you cannot pass as your desired gender then you should expect such things, it's not outrageous to think that you're talking to a man if their voice is incredibly deep.

Everyone should use the toilets designated for the gender that they actually are - i.e. the one they were born as.
