    You should have a quick explanation of it and why you think it's relevant, but don't let it take up too many characters so you can't put other things in

    Remember who is reading your PS - they're probably well aware of what skills are useful to the course.

    Admissions staff are looking for evidence in a PS that:
    a) an applicant understands the course/career they're applying for
    b) an applicant has the enthusiasm and motivation to complete 3+ years of study
    c) an applicant has DEMONSTRATED any non-academic skills necessary to succeed on the course.

    c) isn't really relevant for many academic degrees - only for vocational courses (and often they'll collect this information through other sources like an interview or testing).

    That means the only mention of skills for an academic degree should be in order to evidence a) - that you understand what the course will involve. So make sure that the website of EVERY SINGLE ONE of your choices mentions that you need this particular skill to succeed on the course and then give an example of a situation where you have demonstrated that skill.
