Volunteering/finding work without References? watch

Not gonna dwell on the details but due to severe health issues I've been out of work and education for the past few years, not been socialising much also. I also don't have a family friend to ask for a reference.

However I have recovered and REALLY want to get a job/start volunteering. I was thinking volunteering first as it's easier to start obviously. The problem is, even stuff like working in a charity shop requires 2 references which I really can't get.

How do I at least volunteer with no referees? Can the Job Centre help me with this?

Have you thought about friend or relative whose working in public centre, they can vouch for you. Or ask the charity about it, I'm sure they will give you a chance.

How about volunteering with girl guiding at your local rainbow/brownie/guides group. They don't usually require eeferences
