I am looking into studying computer science in 2018, I was wondering which would look better for employers, a 1 year study abroad or a 1 year sandwich placement.

I love living outside of england ever since I travelled to Australia but I would sacrifice that if it meant better prospects for future employers.

If I could find a uni that did a years placement abroad this would be perfect but I dont know of any unis who do this.

I am also a bit baffled by the concept of BSC and BEng in computer science because as far as I can see the study content is exactly the same, If anyone could shed some light on which one is better for future employment that would be great.

    Thanks.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to find a placement abroad for your sandwich year. There are a few people in my year who have done this. A placement is a placement, no matter where it is.

The year in industry will typically make you more employable than a year abroad. Though that's a generalisation. For instance Liverpool do a year in China. There are probably a few scenarios where that would better prepare you than just a year in industry, I don't know what scenarios specifically, but I'm sure there are some.

As someone else said, there's no reason the internship can't be abroad. You can also do summer internships abroad, and lots of universities do semesters abroad during the second year. I'm giving serious thought to doing semester 1 of the 2nd year in Singapore.
