    basically,the question is

    " a swimmer with a mass of 60kg jumps off the diving board with kinetic energy of 2940J"

    part a) assuming air resistance isn't acting upon the swimmer,assume a height for the diving board

    my answer for this is 4.9 m

    part b) the kinetic energy of the swimmer while swimming at a constant speed is 7.5,work out the speed

    my answer is 0.5 m/s


    part c is what I am confused on

    the swimmer glides and stops in 2m. find out the drag that acts upon the swimmer

    my answer is 3.75 by using the formula w= f x d is this correct?

    Part c is correct. The kinetic energy of the swimmer must be converted into work done in that 2 metres stopping distance. The force acting during the stopping glide is entirely down to drag.

    Careful of rounding errors in part a. Using a = 9.81 ms-2 then the height is 5m.
